Policies and Processes

Implementing long-term strategies

Sustainable change comes through improved policies and processes that provide lasting benefits. Community-led planning is essential to identify the factors and outcomes that matter most to the Malagasy people.

Policy insights from the Ostrom Workshop, founded by Nobel Prize-winner Elinor Ostrom, help to guide policy development throughout this project. Working with local organizations, community leaders, residents, and business owners, Solve Pollution Madagascar determines needs through dialogue, provides practical support for transitions, partners with government and community organizations and the private sector to facilitate supply and distribution of non-polluting resources, and delivers education, communication, and training to build capacity to sustain these changes.

Solve Pollution Madagascar supports local decision makers to identify and implement strategies that encourage economic growth while protecting health and preserving natural resources.
